The Real-Time Road Inspection (RTRI) solution allows users to digitally map, register and inspect the roads of the Netherlands. The solution is deployed by road construction workers, but RTRI can also be used by any other motorist. With RTRI, everyone can contribute to a safe road network.
RTRI consists of two platforms: a mobile app and an inspection platform in the form of a Progressive Web App (PWA). The mobile app supports MONO driving and the app allows users to map the condition of Dutch roads. All app users make recordings of the road during their journeys and a deviation or calamity is registered at the push of a button. By means of Artificial Intelligence (AI) all license plates and faces are automatically blurred, therefore RTRI also fully complies with the AVG legislation. The inspection platform is used by road builders and other parties active in public space, so they can effectively and efficiently survey the area and prepare the work.
App users can map Dutch roads while driving through automatic recordings.
A deviation or calamity can be registered at the push of a button.
Users can change their settings here.
Users can inspect roads via the map overview by entering a location.
Users can open recordings from other users and inspect their marked moments.
Users can easily delete a photo.
Admins can view all uploaded photos.
Admins can register photos as (un)treated or delete them.
Admis can filter the photo overview by treated or untreated.
Admins can view photo details and take follow-up actions.
Admins can view, add and remove accounts.
Admins can add new (admin) users.
Admins can accept or decline new registrations.
When an admin approves a new registration, he or she can also change the license type.
Additionally, admins can manage the PWA and app users of businesses.
Andries Takke, director Takke Breukelen B.V.
''A safer Dutch road network, that's what I longed for about eight years ago when the first idea for Real-Time Road Inspection (RTRI) popped into my head. For my work at Takke-Breukelen B.V. we are on the road a lot. While driving, you see many deviations in the infrastructure, such as holes in the road or traffic signs that are placed incorrectly. Surely there should be a simple way for this information to reach companies who can do something with it?
Once the idea was born, DTT was able to convert it into the RTRI app, which delivers real-time images of the current state of roads and public spaces and sends them to an online platform that companies can join. A useful app for any company that has anything to do with public space. This is because it allows for the quick resolution of infrastructure anomalies. Users also have the option of flagging images when deviations are noticed on the road, for example when there is damage to the road surface.
We at RTRI are extremely satisfied with the app developed by DTT. Everything has been thought of. Faces and license plates that are loaded into the app, for instance, are blurred by means of Artificial Intelligence. In this way the privacy of everyone is guaranteed, while the app can do its work. DTT has also ensured that new data automatically replaces outdated data. Moreover, a very complex caching mechanism was used, because a lot of data will be loaded into the app (over time). A fine piece of work, in which we have experienced a very pleasant cooperation.''
