During the development of a solution, assumptions are often made. Assumptions about how the solution will be used, what users need, and what users are and are not willing to do. When the solution goes live, users may behave differently than expected.
With a user test, we involve users in the development of the solution so that it matches the expectations of end users. On this page you can read how we execute a user test. Feel free to contact us for customized advice without any obligation.
A user test identifies the needs and expectations of users when they use an app, website or game. In this way you discover, among other things, whether users use your solution as expected, what bottlenecks they encounter and which elements they are satisfied with.
We invite testers to perform the user test. We convert the findings from the test into well-founded advice. This way, we make the user experience even better aligned with the goals of your solution.
In preparation for the user test, we will create a comprehensive test plan together. The test plan aligns all components of the user test, including:
The testgoal: Together we discuss what insights we want to uncover with the user test. For example, it is an option to test the entire solution, or zoom in on a defined component (for example, onboarding, registration and login).
De target group: Most solutions appeal to multiple audiences. Together we look at which target group(s) are most valuable for this user test.
The method:We lay out how we will get the right insights from the test and what the advisory report will look like in outline.
The planning: Finally, we coordinate the schedule based on the goals. The average turnaround time is between 3-5 weeks.
When the test plan is ready, the execution of the user test is started.
We look for testers who match the solution's target audience as closely as possible. If the solution is already being used, we can make a call to active users. We ourselves also have a database of deployable testers.
Once the testers are invited, we will conduct the user test. During the test, we use camera and screen recordings to accurately record how the user interacts with the solution.
At the end of each testing day we share a short summary of the first observations, this way you will soon receive a first (intermediate) result. On average it takes 1-2 weeks to perform the tests.
Once all testing is complete, we start analyzing the insights. Quite a bit of ‘raw data’ comes from a user test, including dozens of hours of recordings and observations. We turn these insights into an accessible advisory report.
Within the advisory report, we share a summary of the observations and our recommendations for improvements, optimizations and enrichments that contribute to the set goals. With the substantiated advice, we provide guidance and certainty for the continued development of the solution.

One picture is a thousand words: to make the results even more accessible, we put together a comprehensive video montage of the highlights. A convincing video of about 2-3 minutes in which the most important observations, reactions and emotions are highlighted. This gives you a nice summary for potential investors, stakeholders or decision-makers.
