King Pinguin – Greenpeace AR

In order to bring awareness to the protection of the Antarctic penguins, DTT developed the King Penguin AR app for Greenpeace. Similar to the Pokémon Go franchise, the camera has augmented reality features. Instead of catching Pokémon out in the open, the user takes pictures of penguins. The app also hosts a petition, which users can sign if they want to protect the arctic along with Greenpeace.

Aside from the app we also developed a CMS in which Greenpeace could position the penguins, determine their radius and set the penguin type.

KPMG Fine App 1 & 2

KPMG Fine App 1 & 2 informs users about critical risk areas on international laws and regulations. Following a questionnaire, the user receives a heat map displaying his business position. With these results, new solutions can be developed aiming to reduce the risk. DTT was responsible for the app development, design and server solution.

RIVM Tick Bite – Awareness app

The Tick Bite app informs users about the tick bites dangers and Lyme disease. The Tick bite app provides valuable information in the form of text, image and video. Following these instructions, one can check himself/herself on tick bites, remove the insect, and properly treat the bite. Users can also keep notes in the Tick Bite journal and show them to a physician if necessary.

''Laborie specializes in the development of medical equipment. Some of our older medical equipment (urodynamic system) uses an Android board for a user interface (touchscreen display). DTT helped us perform an essential update of an embedded Android app on our urodynamic devices. The changes were related to the communication between the system modules and the Laborie PC software that connects via Bluetooth. Recent problems with component availability caused a shortage of Bluetooth chips, so we had to modify the Android interface to work with a USB connection.

''Litter is a major annoyance for a lot of people.'' At the elementary school of the municipality of Hollands Kroon, children from group 6 had the solution. A game-app should contribute to the reduction of litter.

We came to DTT with a reasonably well-developed idea. The idea was received with great enthusiasm. The game is intended to make young people aware of the litter problem.

DTT pleasantly surprised us with the development of this app, Operatie Z.U.I.V.E.R. The game, like Pokémon GO, can be played with Augmented Reality in the public space. The game is instructive, you can play alone, but also with groups against each other. In the app you can add schools and sports clubs to compete with each other. We think it can make a major contribution to the awareness of litter among the youth. DTT has helped us enormously with the development of the app. They think along creatively, come up with solutions and are ready to answer our questions. Together we have expressed our intention to develop the app further.''

Real-Time Road Inspection

''A safer Dutch road network, that's what I longed for about eight years ago when the first idea for Real-Time Road Inspection (RTRI) popped into my head. For my work at Takke-Breukelen B.V. we are on the road a lot. While driving, you see many deviations in the infrastructure, such as holes in the road or traffic signs that are placed incorrectly. Surely there should be a simple way for this information to reach companies who can do something with it?

Once the idea was born, DTT was able to convert it into the RTRI app, which delivers real-time images of the current state of roads and public spaces and sends them to an online platform that companies can join. A useful app for any company that has anything to do with public space. This is because it allows for the quick resolution of infrastructure anomalies. Users also have the option of flagging images when deviations are noticed on the road, for example when there is damage to the road surface.

We at RTRI are extremely satisfied with the app developed by DTT. Everything has been thought of. Faces and license plates that are loaded into the app, for instance, are blurred by means of Artificial Intelligence. In this way the privacy of everyone is guaranteed, while the app can do its work. DTT has also ensured that new data automatically replaces outdated data. Moreover, a very complex caching mechanism was used, because a lot of data will be loaded into the app (over time). A fine piece of work, in which we have experienced a very pleasant cooperation.''

With multiple user roles, different needs per environment where food and drinks are available (school, sports, work) and the link with an existing food database, the Canteen Scan is not a simple tool. But DTT has succeeded in translating our wishes into a nice tool. The new Canteen Scan is a visually modern, adopted and user-friendly web app.

Those involved in canteens and restaurants can enter the products offered and their placement on the basis of photos. Users additionally receive advice for improvement, so that locations are able to take steps towards a healthier eating environment that stimulates consumers to make healthier choices."

This game in which a Lego house has to be built, was supervised by a few game leaders. "For our most popular and best-known lottery scratch-card, December Calendar, we came up with the idea to develop a fun game that you can be played both on PC and on your phone. For this, we started looking for a multimedia partner and found DTT. Despite the short timetable, DTT delivered a super game: the December Calendar game. This game, starring the penguins from the December Calendar 2014 lottery scratchcards, is based on an existing game and is intended as a free fun bonus. You can't win (money) prizes, but you can get the highest score! Communication was smooth, clear and fast and we could always turn to DTT if we had questions. DTT also thought actively us on how we could generate more downloads and gave us good advice where necessary. In short, DTT has been an excellent partner. "The RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and Environment) had the "Tick bite" app launched in April 2014. This app was initially developed for Android. With this app people can check what ticks are and how to correctly remove them (even without internet connection!). Starting from July 2014 the app will be available for iOS also.

In the beginning we have spoken with a number of potential executors and we chose for DTT. What struck us was that from the very start DTT was very involved in the issue and the development of the app. The rates were reasonable and certainly played a role in choosing DTT. During our collaboration, we got to know Jeffrey and Dirk better. We emailed and called each other so often, we even noticed the urge to contact them when it wasn't even necessary. I think that says enough!

We work from a non-profit foundation with charitable objectives and in the beginning we had a lot of budget-friendly solutions. The latest French version has a more complex development challenge with an in-app purchase and code access system. DTT has quickly and efficiently implemented it.
